Optimum Therapeutics, LLC is a biotechnology research and development laboratory that is
actively developing promising new cancer treatments. Optimum is among the top 50 R&D
entities in the State of Ohio with respect to federal funding. We are seeking experienced
laboratory personnel to enhance our current team.

Candidates are expected to work both independently and as a team to plan, conduct and
interpret experiments, and write reports and grant proposals. The qualified individual has
outstanding problem-solving skills, enthusiasm, interest to share own expertise, and is
expected to carry out own responsibilities with initiative, independence and creativity while

Positions
We are seeking experienced laboratory personnel to enhance our current team.

The candidate should have a PhD or similar degree in a pharmaceutics, pharmacology or a
related field and experience in drug discovery and development. Demonstration of original
research in the areas of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, or toxicology would be an
advantage. Candidates should have research experience in diabetes-induced myopathy,
good publication records, and be eligible to apply for NIH SHIFT grants.

The successful candidate must have practical experience in designing and performing in
vivo and in vitro experiments and data interpretation, and be interested in developing
independent federally-funded research programs that can evolve and result in
commercializable products.

Other Skills Desired:
• Knowledge of cell biology and skills in cell culture, in vivo animal experimentation, ECHO
and other cardiac function tests, cytotoxicity evaluation, Western blotting,
immunoprecipitation, and ELISA.
• Hands-on experience with PK/PD experiment design and computational modeling using
industry standard software, e.g., WinNonlin or NONMEM.
• Bioanalytical experience and skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis from biological
matrices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, preferably with experience in federal grant
writing and submissions to regulatory agencies.

The candidate is expected to work both independently and as a team, and to plan, execute,
interpret, and present results of own experiments. A critical qualification of the successful
candidate will be an enthusiasm and willingness to identify, evaluate and implement cell-
based technologies, and share her/his expertise.

Developing and successfully executing development plans are the primary functions of this
role. The candidate will also generate regulatory submissions, internal position papers and
publications that reflect insightful, cutting edge analysis. In this role, the successful
candidate will be a visible team member and will be called upon to serve as a scientific
advisor for senior management.
